Apart from acting in the spirit of the social market economy, the founders must present a sustainable business idea and act as a social leader. The prize tagets founders across the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Three finalists can expect prizes worth between EUR 2,000 and 10,000. Applications are accepted by email.
Start-ups in Hamburg now have until the deadline of July 31, 2023 to enter three contests for founders. Successful entrants stand to win EUR 2,000 to EUR 50,000 in prize money.

Gründergeist Start-up Competition
The Junior Chamber of Commerce holds the annual "Gründergeist Startup Competition" to promote particularly innovative and ideas from the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Seven applicants are invited to a professional pitch training and can then present their business ideas to a jury of experts. Three finalists stand to win prizes worth a total of EUR 20,000. Applications can be submitted online. The awards ceremony will be held in the Körber Forum.
Idea Promotion Award
Good ideas are also the focus of the 16th Idea Promotion Prize presented by the Hamburg-based Idee coffee roaster Darboven. The prize lauds women's innovative business start-ups. "I am repeatedly inspired by women's great entrepreneurial potential, which does not receive sufficient support," said Albert Darboven. The prize encourages women to take the path to self-employment and promotes entrepreneurs who secure Germany's international competitiveness with sustainable business ideas in social, ecological and economic fields. Three finalists stand to win prizes worth EUR 5,000 to 50,000. Applications can be submitted online and per post.
