Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft backing start-ups at interface of music and technology

Four music start-ups have been selected by Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and the Ministry of Culture and Media for the Music Worx incubator underway from September to November 2024. This will help founders at the interface of music and technology to further their business ideas. Each start-up receives up to EUR 9,500 and a comprehensive range of support

Technological innovations in music industry

"We looked for ideas that are innovative and offer real added value for the music scene," said Marie Schreiber, Project Manager of Music Worx. The selected start-ups include Germany's YMYR which seeks to boost the local music scene. Another German start-up, Visuell, transforms videos into visually responsive works of art and projects them in real time onto stages or social networks. The Polish start-up, Trill, links up musicians with industry experts to collaborate and develop their careers. Danish start-up Cataloguer's solution pools digital music collections and presents them visually allowing users to discover music in a new way.

Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft offering support

The three-month incubator helps founders to bring their ideas to market maturity. Apart from funding, the start-ups attend workshops and receive individual coaching from a broad network of mentors and companies in Hamburg. The Music Worx Pitch and the annual Reeperbahn Festival conference give them an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a large audience. The wide-ranging support offered by Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft reflects the importance of the creative industries in Hamburg.
