Electrolysers, new types of wind turbines, digital energy concepts are just some of many new innovations. EEHH will award the prize in the main categories Lifetime Achievement, Product Innovation of the Year, Project of the Year and Student Work of the Year, as well as in the secondary category Outstanding Journalistic Work and in the latest hydrogen category. Only projects with a clear link to hydrogen production, storage, transport or use are eligible to compete in the "Hydrogen Innovation of the Year" category.
Applications for the German Renewables Award and in the new hydrogen category are being accepted until the deadline of May 31, 2021. Launched by the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster (EHH), interested companies and students can submit projects and theses for the award, which will be presented in Hamburg in November 2021.

Awards ceremony
This year's awards ceremony will be held on November 18 as a hybrid event in Hamburg. The winners of the main categories will be selected by a jury consisting of representatives from business, science and research while the EEHH journalist prize will be presented separately. Winners of the German Renewables Award receive a trophy and will be interviewed for the EEHH blog and podcast "New Energy from Hamburg". The winning Student Work of the Year will receive EUR 1,000 in prize money. Projects and nominations can be submitted on the EEHH website until May 31, 2021.
