Hamburg to host world's largest congress on allergology in June

8,000 delegates expected at hybrid event in CCH

More than 8,000 delegates are expected at the world's largest congress on allergy and clinical immunology by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in the new Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) from June 9 to 11, 2023. The congress, which is being held as a hybrid event, also features diverse sessions, interactive formats, and educational opportunities under the theme of "Pathways from precision medicine to personalized care“ to highlight healthcare solutions tailored to patients’ lives.

Exchanging expert opinions

Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science and Research, remarked: “It is hard to imagine Hamburg without its medical conventions. They support the highly important exchange of views and expertise between scientists and physicians all over the world, driving scientific progress and knowledge transfer, both locally and internationally. It is precisely this kind of international collaboration that enables science and research to deliver solutions to today’s challenges.” Michael Otremba, Managing Director of Hamburg Tourist Board, pointed out: "Hamburg specifically applied for this congress, as we are hoping for a transfer of knowledge in the field of allergology for the relevant experts from the region and for Germany, in addition to the economic effects. The fact that we are now able to host this congress shows that Hamburg is positioning itself very clearly and positively in competition with other important metropolises in the conference and congress sector."

Great conditions at CCH

The Hamburg Convention Bureau and CCH worked hand in hand to secure this year's congress for Hamburg. The refurbished and redesigned CCH counts among Europe’s largest and most advanced congress centres and offers 36,000 square meters of space. Stefano Del Giacco, President of EAACI, said: "This year, we holding the congress at a fantastic and conveniently accessible venue - the Congress Center Hamburg - which meets all our requirements," while Mohamed Shamji, EAACI Vice-President Congresses, added: “The CCH, a modern and unique centre, will be the perfect backdrop to the great science being discussed this year."
