Around 60 delegates attended a symposium in Hamburg to launch the new thematic focus. The working groups concentrated on infection research, social research (social implications of decarbonization), climate change, catastrophe protection, and biodiversity. The partnership should strengthen co-operation between the universities and individual research fields and boost international scientific exchange. Special emphasis is on supporting young researchers and developing recommendations for policymakers.
The University of Hamburg and Kyoto University extended their strategic partnership until 2026 during a ceremony in City Hall on Monday (June 19, 2023). Emphasis is on planetary health and on connections between ecological, social, and economic systems and their impact on human health.
