"Winning one of Hamburg's twelve literary prizes has meant recognition of achievements for nearly 40 years and spurred on even more literary work," said Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media. The prize money should help authors with their work. The Zeit Foundation is donating the prize money for the award in the "Non-Fiction Book of the Year" category. "Hamburg is a city of science and that needs publicity. Apart from research and teaching, science is on a mission to impact society," said Prof Manuel Hartung, Chairman of the Board of the Zeit-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius.
Authors, translators and comic artists now have until the deadline of June 30, 2023 to apply for the Hamburg Literature Awards 2023, a press release said Wednesday (March 1, 2023).
