Lampuga means surfing without a sail, regardless of wind and waves. It’s fast, emission-free and versatile. Lampuga means quiet motor sports, powered by a water jet propulsion, with a speed of up to 50 kilometres per hour. With its intuitive control via weight transfer, riding the Lampuga is easy to learn in quiet waters. Confronting the waves, however, still requires a lot of practice. Lampuga thus offers new water sports pleasures to beginners and advanced riders alike.
Two investors for early-stage financing will support the Northern German start-up Sashay GmbH. MBGSchleswig-Holstein and the Innovation Starter Fund Hamburg will fund the development and launch of the motorised surfboard “Lampuga”.
A New Wave Of Surfing
Diversification Of Model Range
“Following last summer’s six-digit sale in Europe, we now want to start with a larger production, extend our product range, and hire new staff for our highly motivated team. Our small and handy drive can be integrated into any size and shape of surfboard. In 2015, we plan to launching a cheaper version for the mass market along with a new model custom-tailored for water rescue. We are delighted to present Lampuga to the public for the first time at the international boat show 2015 at Dusseldorf, booth 10C02 in hall 10”, says Benjamin Köhnsen, founder and CEO of Sashay GmbH. Fomer German jet ski champion Dr. Lutz Kaiser is also convinced of the success of the product. “In summer 2014, I tested Lampuga in the waters surrounding Sylt, and I absolutely loved it. This is the new fun sport on the water!”
New Fun Sport For Everyone
“With Lampuga, Sashay GmbH launched a new fun sport suited for everyone. The team achieved great success with first sales, is highly motivated and highly competent in the development of water sports equipment with electric drives”, commented Dorte Bunge from Innovation Starter Fund Hamburg on the investment.
