Volotea to halve CO2 emissions by 2030
Established in 2011 by the founders of the Spanish airline Vueling, Volotea is on a growth course and has gained a foothold on the European market. The airline plans to serve up to 400 routes in 2023 with a fleet of 41 Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft and to halve CO2 emissions per passenger and kilometre by 2030 over 2012. The airline's sustainable commitment has already led to a 40 per cent reduction of the carbon footprint per passenger and kilometre.
