Rufus Beck, actor and speaker, voices the German-language Harry Potter audio books, and will read some book scenes during the events starting at 2 pm. Actors in the Harry Potter play in Hamburg will also take to the stage. The organisers are hoping to set a world record and are encouraging people to dress up as Harry Potter complete with the distinctive black cloak, glasses and lightning bolt scar. A gathering of more than 997 costumers would break the previous record. Toy manufacturer Lego will recreate the magic duel with Lord Voldemort using tens of thousands of Lego bricks. Visitors can build their own creatures and magic wands from the toy bricks and take them home.
Hamburg is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the first book in Joanne. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series in Germany on August 26, 2023. Carlsen Verlag, Warner Bros. Discovery, the Audible and Hörverlag, and those behind the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" play are staging the "Back to Hogwarts"-themed event outside City Hall. All kinds of events are planned around the popular fantasy stories.
