"We have created a place that is radically different from the office as we have known it," said Petra von Strombeck, CEO of New Work SE. The new building offers different work zones with emphasis on collaboration, dialogue and communication, and more than a dozen spaces for diversion and relaxation. All workstations can be chosen freely and are not permanently assigned to anyone. There are no individual offices, not even for the executive board. "The pandemic has shown that in the home office, we lack exchange and physical proximity in the long run. We need a place where corporate culture comes alive." von Strombeck noted.
The Hamburg-based New Work SE is gearing up to open its new headquarters for German-speaking countries in HafenCity on September 16. More than 900 employees are to move into the former Unilever building, which has won several architectural awards. The interior has been redesigned for the so-called "New Work Harbour" after work lasting two years. New Work SE, which is the parent company of Xing, now hopes to create one of the most attractive working environments in Germany based on its employees’ needs and the latest scientific findings on modern working environments.

Kai Hollensteiner, Project Manager at New Work SE, commented: "Our goal was to develop an office that redefines New Work - both in its structural implementation and in everyday life." The company now hopes to strengthen its attractiveness as an employer with the new headquarters. New Work SE moved into an entirely redesigned office in Vienna in July 2021. The new headquarters in Hamburg will also be open to the public and for events later.
