New daily non-stop, long-haul flight from Hamburg Airport

Qatar Airways began operating Monday (July 1, 2024) a daily, 6.5 hour, direct flight from Hamburg Airport to Doha. Hamad International Airport in Qatar's capital is a major connecting hub for many destinations in Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Strengthening foreign trade and tourism

"Our passengers can now look forward to even more flexible travel.  Hamburg is becoming an increasingly important business centre and travel destination," said Christian Kunsch, CEO of Hamburg Airport. The new flight boosts both tourism as well as global economic trade relations and also increases the volume of air freight at Hamburg Airport. "As Germany's most important foreign trade centre, international accessibility is a key factor for Hamburg. Direct flights make the city even more attractive for investors and tourists as well as for organisers of international congresses and events," said Malte Heyne, Managing Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

Quatar Airways voted best airline

Qatar Airways now serves five German cities including Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Munich,  Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Skytrax, the international aviation rating organisation, named Qatar Airways the airline Best Airline at the World Airline Awards for the eighth time. "We are proud to be able to offer our customers from north Germany one of the most modern and comfortable aircraft in the world," said Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways.
