The new building's location should prepare central Hamburg for the future, according to Karen Pein, Senator for Urban Development and Housing. The feasibility study by Christoph Ingenhoven Architects had rated the property as suitable and plans are being laid for the next construction phase. "The purchase itself is not a burden on the budget, and we can also draw on federal funds for the conversion," said Andreas Dressel, Senator for Finance and Chairman of the LIG Board of Directors.
