Path to green hydrogen sector
North Germany offers all the prerequisites for setting up a green hydrogen sector, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Several major projects are being initiated to achieve a climate-neutral energy supply. Central to these are the construction of the Green Hydrogen Hub electrolyser in Moorburg and the HH-WIN hydrogen industrial network. Hydrogen will be imported simultaneously via a terminal in the port to supply various companies there with green energy. The HY-5 hydrogen hopes to strengthen and expand national and international collaborations on developing a hydrogen economic sector in north Germany.
